Client, Advocates for Youth hired our team to assist in publicizing its '1 in 3' campaign which launched groundbreaking play to de-stigmatize abortion by encouraging women to break their silence and share personal stories. The 1 in 3 campaign originated from the statistic that one in three women will have an abortion in their lifetime, most of which will be judged, shamed, and, ‘pushed into silence.’
The nonprofit collected hundreds of women’s stories through partner organization, and then brought them to life through 'Out of Silence', a series of vignettes inspired by real life experiences. We worked diligently to make a wave of influence for its mission, while still maintaining the sensitive nature of the series and those the effect on a movement it may have.
From press management, traditional public relations, and onsite opening night management, we became the veritable arm in assisting the client field both groundbreaking yet controversial questions to both sides of the argument. Having their message heard, while maintaining its mission was our goal.
Our team handled both the DC grand opening and the proceeding performances, as well as a premiere press preview in New York City.
